To ensure its plunger works properly, I burnished it with a wire wheel. But, the operation lever faces out of the side of the e unit and it makes good contact. The picture above is that of a rebuilt e unit.
I've cleaned the inside of its magnetic coil cylinder with alcohol. But, its contact fingers have been replaced. The control lever for this e unit comes out the side.
Its wire colors are black, blue, yellow and green like those in Lionel's manuals. Normally, it comes out of a slot on top of a Lionel engine, or out underneath. I'm uncertain of its age.
