I tested this item and the light action work great. The light can be wired to be always on or come on when activated. This thomas version of the classic 145 gateman features a metal base, plastic shack figure, internal illumination and operating sir topham hatt.
Normally the door is closed and sir topham hatt is hidden inside but when activated the door opens and sir topham hatt pops out ready to check and talk to the passing engine train. All electrical hook up options are covered in the included instruction book.
