Its missing some cars and track. Should be considered as is to safe. This unit came specifically from the 8750 box set 80s. I have not run the engine myself, but it physically seems to be in good order, no obviously broken pieces on or cars, wheels and couplings seem fine, however tested personally as came into a huge estate of trains simply dont time test every unit.
