Details:

The tender is not damaged. I see nothing broken, but then my old eyes are not what they used to be, so PLEASE look the photos over very carefully. The 20768 set is one of those Holy Grail items in American Flyers Gauge collecting. All of the inner boxes are reproductions as well, all with couplet guides in them.

I say most of the time, because will, on some occasions, ship in previously used cartons and may reuse other types packing materials, which best suit item being shipped. The light in the caboose works. It was a big, expensive set, made when train sets were not selling well at all, resulting in very few ever sold. I bench tested the loco and it runs very strong, with smoke, Chook-Chook light working, but reverse unit hangs up sometimes.

The cars are as shown, some nicer than others. What you see is what get. The Auto Carrier trailer has the typical breaks in 3 spots on upper railings, but it is still one of better ones I have ever seen. I sometimes use USPS Priority Mail shipping cartons as well.

20768 The Smokey Mountain Deluxe Train Set, Produced by.C. The 21130 NYC Hudson loco has gone off the side of a train table it looks like, and corners cab roof are slightly bent, as is pilot. The pilot bend is very minor and I do not believe it would hinder operation, but again, make no guarantees, please see photos. Anyway, if you want to fill that spot in your collection until you MIGHT find an all original Smokey Mountain Set, this one would make a good place holder.

The Jet Engine flat car has never been run. I've been around for a while a LONG while and I have dived into my last dumpster looking shipping cartons. So, someone decided to make a reproduction set box.
