Included with the set is a crossing, six pieces of large curved track, two short curved track and four straight track. Its roof, frame, and the observation balcony end repainted in red. On the bottom of each side is Hafner herald lettered in red and HAFNEROVERLAND FLYER RAILWAYS. On the side of box is stamped 13170 and, more faintly, National Recovery Act NRA logo stamp with American Eagle.
Up for offer is this very nice Hafner Century of Progress train set made in 1933. It has some damage to one corner of the box top handsome missing lettering. As mentioned before, the original box is included and stamped as earlier stated on one end. Each side is light yellow with OVERLAND FLYER lettered in Red along the top.
The last car in the train set is an observation also made of lithographed template. Included in this set is a locomotive, tender, baggage car, coach, and observation car swell as track original box. It also includes provision for small battery to power its electric light bulb in the front of boiler bulb missing. The sides are lithographed in light yellow with OVERLAND FLYER lettered Red along the top.
The light bulb appears to be missing. This locomotive appears not to work, although can be turned wit hits original key. This set appears complete and original as far I can determine. The coach has four wheels, template construction, with a red roof, frame, and ends.
The number 1110 locomotive is constructed of tinplate meta land painted black except for the red housing around boiler front.It features a clockwork motor with brake and mechanically track actuated bell. It is a very popular Hafner train set not only for Hafner collectors but also Century of Progress collectors. The original key is also included. The baggage car has four wheels, tinplate metal construction, a red painted frame,red roof, and ends.
Each side is lithographed in light yellow and lettered OVERLAND FLYER red across the top EXPRESS BAGGAGE HAFNER RAILWAYS Herald Red to left while inured USA MAIL right. There is a lever in the cab that controls electric battery operated light and another for brake.
