The passenger coaches are complete and show wear, nicks, etc from 75 years use. There are 9 total curve track and 5 total straight track plus two Marx logons and one accessory locking. The train will run on 10 to 15 volts with a regular Marx or Lionel transformer so the 220 volt transformer becomes a shelf piece. Eight pieces of no 261 curve track is included as well as four pieces of no 260 straight track.

The transformer is black and shines. Making a circumference of 120 inches.

Two original black wires are attached to the posts. Eight no 252, which is the one that comes with this set or 253 which has a reverse button. Transformer is sold separately. There is also a ground wire attached to the transformer and the wire.

The beaver tail observation is missing one plastic end light. The prewar catalog notes that both train 250 and 251 came with one streamline electric train and mail van combined. Marx produced this in the USA and then brought this to his English factory where it was made from 1938 to 1940 or so. So this train and transformer cost about 10 us dollars at the time.

Similar but different the English version has more windows, made in england printed on the train cars, and a 220 volt transformer clearly marked made in the USA but sent to england for use with the 220 volt electrical system, then in place. This is a three rail electric train in gauge.
