One track does show a small burned area as seen in the photos. No instructions are included. I m not sure where that failure lies. The transformer does power the train, but as mentioned, I was not able to activate horn.

This is a preowned and used set that works being sold as. I am not a model railroad expert. I have verified that the engine moves forward and backwards, but lights did not come on, nor was able to verify horn activates. All track are present and no connectors broken.

The lights on all of the cars do activate. The box is partially covered in clear packing tape and does have a small amount of rips crumples as seen the photos. This could likely be user error on my part.
