Both things are present, I do not run these on a layout to see how many cars they can pull, with any locomotive of this age I strongly recommend that you clean oil and service the motor prior to running the locomotive for any time, the 4 drive wheels are in great shape with no pieces missing, the gears are metal with no missing teeth in them, the motor is free and turns with no binding. As you can see from the pictures both of the side rails are present, and the drive arms are present, the head light bezel is present on this locomotive.

This unit has been tested for operation, this is bench testing, I check for the motor to energize and have movement. The normal scuffs and scarps are present on these units.

The head light is functioning on the unit. Finally these units are some of the biggest power that Marx produced. Okay here is the important details.
